Rs 2,400 cr to be invested in new tourist destination: Bali
A new tourist destination will be developed in Himachal Pradesh with an investment of Rs 2,400 crore, announced RS Bali, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, during the Himachal Day function in Hamirpur today.
Addressing the gathering at the district-level function held at the Shaheed Captain Mridul Sharma Memorial Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Bali paid tribute to Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar, the state’s first Chief Minister and other freedom fighters for their pivotal role in securing statehood for Himachal. He praised the hard work and integrity of the people of the state, which has earned Himachal a reputation as one of the best-performing states in the country.
Bali highlighted the state’s development initiatives under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, stating that a new era of public welfare and infrastructure growth has commenced. To boost tourism, the state government will soon launch the ‘Mukhyamantri Paryatan Start-up Yojana’, which will offer a four per cent interest subsidy on loans for homestays and hotels in non-tribal areas and five per cent in tribal regions.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Himachal into a green energy state by March 31 next year and making it self-reliant by 2027. The vision is to develop Himachal as the country’s most prosperous state by 2032.
Bali mentioned that six out of ten major promises made during the assembly elections have been fulfilled in just two years. He noted the government’s decision to announce minimum support prices for milk and naturally grown wheat, maize and turmeric for the first time in the state.
Earlier in the day, RS Bali hoisted the national flag and reviewed a ceremonial parade featuring contingents.
