Paint station inaugurated at Sobha Singh Art Gallery
Marking the celebration of World Art Day, a new initiative, a paint station, was inaugurated on Tuesday at Sobha Singh Art Gallery, Andretta, in Kangra district. This creative setup invites visitors to explore their artistic side amidst the serene surroundings and lush gardens where the legendary artist Sobha Singh once created some of his most iconic works.
Conceived as a participatory experience, the paint station offers tourists and art enthusiasts the chance to paint their own ‘canvas of dreams.’ “Participants can freely express themselves on canvas boards and take their creations home as cherished mementoes,” said Hirday Paul Singh, Communication Director of the gallery.
The initiative is designed to make art accessible not only to seasoned connoisseurs but also to beginners. The peaceful environment and the enduring legacy of Sobha Singh’s art stir deep emotions, which visitors can now channel into their own creative expressions.
To guide young and emerging artists, Kamaljit Kaur, a master trainer, will assist children and amateur painters in realising their visions. The paint station will provide all essential art supplies—canvas boards, paints, brushes and aprons—ensuring a hassle-free and enriching experience for all participants.
Hriday Singh expressed hope that this hands-on artistic engagement would leave a lasting impression, allowing visitors to create something deeply personal and meaningful. “We believe that everyone carries an artist within. The station is our way of helping that inner artist emerge,” he said.
