Adam Zampa Ruled Out Of IPL 2025, SRH Announce Replacement
Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa has been ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2025 due to shoulder injury. The news comes in as a huge setback for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who are already enduring a miserable season.
The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a rollercoaster one for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They began the season with a dominant win against Rajasthan Royals (RR), but followed that up with four consecutive losses, only to make a strong comeback by chasing down 246 against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Adam Zampa did not enjoy a fruitful IPL 2025, as the spinner played the first two matches for SRH this season, where he picked up two wickets, and conceded runs at an economy of 11.5.
SRH Announce Zampa's Replacement
SRH have announced Smaran Ravichandran as Adam Zampa's replacement for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. Smaran, a 21-year-old left-handed batter from Karnataka, has been signed at a base price of ₹30 lakhs.
Smaran has showcased his versatility across formats, scoring over 1,100 runs in domestic cricket. In the recent Ranji Trophy season, he amassed 516 runs in seven first-class matches at an impressive average of 64.50. In List A cricket, he piled up 433 runs from 10 matches with a remarkable average of 72.16. In the shortest format, Smaran scored 170 runs in six T20 games at an average of 34.00 and a striking strike rate of 170.00, which also included a half-century.
