The discussions about the underworld’s connections within the film industry were at peak during the late 80’s and 90’s. Many might be unaware that Anita Ayoob, who was a Pakistani actress and pageant winner was known to be dating underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. That’s right!

In 1993, Anita was launched by Dev Anand in his directorial debut Pyaar Ka Tarana. She worked in several number of Pakistani TV shows before she made her Hindi film debut. Anita again worked with Dev Anand in his film Gangster, released in 1994. By now, rumours of her alleged relationship with gangster Dawood Ibrahim had started doing the rounds.

However, Anita denied all the speculations of her dating him. In 1995, an incident happened that shook the entire film fraternity, suspecting that she was connected to Dawood and his gang. Film producer Javed Siddique was shot in Mumbai, reportedly by Anita’s alleged boyfriend. There were reports that he refused to cast her in one of his upcoming films, which is why the gangster killed him in anger. While the news is still unverified, but people believed that Anita had some sort of connection with Dawood. A Pakistani magazine in 90s wrote that Ayoob is believed to a Pakistani spy in the industry. Amidst these ongoing speculations, the actress returned to Pakistan soon after.

In late 1990s, Anita tied the knot with a Indian businessman Saumil Patel and settled in New York after marriage. The two have a son named Shazer. However, the couple separated after few years of marriage. Ayoob later married Pakistani businessman Subak Majeed, and since then is being living overseas, away from both India and Pakistan.
