School Holiday 2025: There is a relief news for school students. After the end of examinations and heatwave, now different states have started announcing summer holidays in schools.
In the states where summer holidays will start from May and schools are starting in the month of April, their timings have been changed. Apart from this, there will be holidays in the schools of different states due to second and fourth Saturdays along with Sunday, Good Friday and Parshuram Jayanti in the month of April.
School Summer Vacation states
Madhya Pradesh: According to the order issued by the Madhya Pradesh Government School Education Department, summer vacation has been declared for students from May 1 to June 15 and for teachers from May 1 to May 31. These holidays will be applicable to all private and government schools in the state simultaneously.
Delhi: Summer holidays in Delhi schools will start from May 11 and end on June 30. However, teachers will have to report to schools from June 28.
Jharkhand: According to the annual calendar released by the Jharkhand Education Department, this time summer vacation will start from May 22 and will last till June 4, 2025. Earlier these holidays were scheduled till June 2 only, but in view of the scorching heat and heat wave, the holidays have been extended by two more days.
Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu, summer vacation for classes 1 to 5 will run from April 22 to June 1, classes 6 to 9 from April 25 to June 1 and summer vacation for class 10 students will run from April 15 to June 1.
Himachal Pradesh: This time the summer vacation in Himachal Pradesh schools will be for 32 days from 12 July to 12 August. Earlier it used to be for 38 days from 22 June to 29 July. The 4 holidays of April have been canceled, instead summer break will be from 1 to 8 June. Schools in Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Nagarota Surian, Indora, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb and Una districts will have a 30-day summer holiday from 1 to 30 June.
Summer Vacation / Summer Camp in Uttar Pradesh
All government and recognized schools in Uttar Pradesh may be closed from 18 May 2025. The holidays will last till 15 June 2025. That is, children will get a total of 28 days of summer vacation. However, summer camps will be organized for children between 20 May and 15 June in council schools of Uttar Pradesh. In this, children will be taught many subjects along with studies in a playful way.
During the summer camp, children will be given information about activities based on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), skills, yoga, sports, science-technology based experiments, art-culture etc.
The camps will be organized daily for one and a half hours in the morning, the responsibility of which will be of Shiksha Mitra, instructors and teachers. Jaggery chikki, millet laddu, Ramdana laddu, jaggery-gram and Laiya Patti will be made available to the children in the camp for supplementary nutrition.
