This neighbour of India hits JACKPOT, discovers 12 mines containing over 10 tons of…, worth Rs…, not Pakistan, China, Bangladesh

It seems, Vietnam has hit a jackpot with the discovery of vast wealth hidden beneath its terrain. New discoveries and long-standing mining sites reveal the vast wealth hidden beneath Vietnam’s terrain. According to statistics from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam is home to approximately 500 gold mining sites across the country.

Recently, the Mid-Central Geological Division has unearthed 12 mines containing over 10 tons of gold and 16 tons of silver. The discoveries were made following geological investigations across 32 areas with gold ore potential.

Vietnamese authorities have also identified around 500 gold-bearing locations nationwide. Of these, 30 sites have undergone detailed surveys, revealing an estimated total of 300 tons of gold reserves. Most of these deposits are concentrated in mountainous areas of northern Vietnam and several central provinces.

Starting in 2025, the Department of Geology and Minerals has been launching a new project to evaluate mineral potential in central Vietnam, focusing on localities like Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces.

According to an approved mineral exploration report by the National Mineral Reserve Evaluation Council, Vietnam possesses around 25,084 kilograms of primary gold.

Bong Mieu is often referred to as the “gold territory” of Quang Nam, serving as a vital economic resource for the province by generating employment and contributing significantly to the provincial budget.

The Bong Mieu mine has been managed and exploited by Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co., Ltd. since 1992. However, its license expired in March 2016
