Female soldier becomes the first woman to compete in the grueling Army Ranger contest
For the first time, a female Army Ranger, 1st Lt. Gabrielle White, participated in the Best Ranger Competition, finishing 14th overall with her teammate, Capt. Seth Deltenre. Out of 52 teams, White and Deltenre were among the 16 to complete the demanding three-day event at Fort Benning. This milestone comes after the Army opened Ranger School to women in 2015.
