Two Girls Suffocate To Death In Parked Car As Parents Discuss Over Family Function Inside House In Telangana

Two girl children suffocated to death after they reportedly became accidentally trapped inside a parked car in Chevella, located in the Rangareddy district of Telangana. The children were found unconscious after being stuck inside the vehicle for over an hour.

The victims, identified as Thanu Sri, aged 4, and Abhinetri, aged 5, had accompanied their families to Damaragiri village to participate in preparations for a relative’s upcoming wedding, as per a report on ANI. While the adults were engaged in the discussions inside a relative's home, the girls are believed to have wandered out and entered the parked car unnoticed.

Children Remain 'Locked' In Car For Over An Hour

Police say the girls likely shut the door behind them and were unable to open it again, reported The Hindu. With the windows rolled up and the car stationary under the heat, the trapped children reportedly felt suffocated.

Later, realising the girls were missing, the families initiated a search. They were eventually found them inside the vehicle in an unresponsive state.

"Children went outside and opened the car door and sat inside the vehicle unnoticed. They remained in the car for over an hour and fell unconscious due to suffocation," police said, as per ANI.

The children were immediately taken to a nearby government hospital, but doctors confirmed that both had already died.

Authorities have confirmed that no formal complaint has been registered as of yet, though an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, in another similar incident in November last year in Gujarat’s Amreli district, four children, ranging in age from two to seven, died after they mistakenly locked themselves in a car. The victims were from a migrant family and had entered an unattended car while playing.
