Youth beaten to death at Sonepat village, 6 held
With the arrest of six accused, the Sonepat Sadar police have claimed to solve a murder case of a youth at Kami village within 24 hours. The youth was beaten to death at Kami village on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Ankit, a resident of Kami village. The assailants after murdering the youth threw his body in front of his house gate on Sunday evening.
Mother of the deceased in her complaint to the Sadar police stated that two youths Navin and Ajay of Kami village came to their house on a motorcycle.
Ajay was driving the motorcycle, while her son Ankit was sitting in the middle and Navin was sitting behind her son on the two-wheeler. As they reached their home, they threw his son on the street and said they had murdered Ankit while threatening to kill her if she complained to the police about the incident.
She tried to pick-up her son, but he was already dead. She further alleged that Navin and his brother Praveen along with their friends beat her son to death at Navin’s house. Following the complaint, the Sadar police registered a case and began a probe into the matter.
The Sadar police under the supervision of Kharkhoda DCP Jeet Singh immediately swung into action and arrested six persons for reportedly murdering Ankit by assaulting him.
“The accused have been identified as Navin, his brother Praveen, Ajay, Tanuj, alias Kala, Dipanshu, alias Monu and Lokesh, alias Sunny, of Kami village,” the DCP said.
The DCP said during preliminary interrogation the accused revealed that Navin had some enmity with Sahil, a friend of the deceased. Ankit went to Navin’s house on Sunday to ask Navin not to torture his friend Sahil.
They had some altercation during talks and Navin along with his brother and other accused attacked Ankit. Deceased’s friend Deepak also sustained injuries in the incident, DCP Jeet Singh asserted.
Navin had a criminal record, he said. All accused would be produced before the court on Tuesday, he said.
