CCTV Footage Shows Horrific Abduction Of 5-Year-Old Girl Raped & Murdered In Karnataka; Accused Killed In Police Encounter
Hubli, Karnataka: In the shocking rape and murder case of a 5-year-old girl in Karnataka, a CCTC footage has surfaced, which shows the accused abducting the child from a residential area in Hubli.
The accused, identified as Nitesh Kumar (35) from Patna, Bihar, was shot dead in an encounter with the police after he allegedly attacked officers while in custody, on Sunday, April 13.
The CCTV footage, now in possession of the Hubli police, captures Kumar carrying the little girl in his arms, leading her away from a residential lane near the area where her mother worked as a domestic help. As per reports, the child was accompanying her mother for work on the day the incident took place. Shortly after, the girl went missing.

According to reports, the girl's lifeless body was discovered in a nearby vacant building hours later. Police officials told ANI that the CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying and tracking the accused, who was later booked under the POCSO Act on charges of rape and murder.
Accused Was Shot Dead After He Tried To Flee
According to Hubli Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar, the accused attacked the police personnel while he was being taken to his residence to verify his identity. “He damaged a police vehicle and attempted to flee. Despite a warning shot fired in the air, he did not stop. Sub-inspector Annapurna then fired two rounds, and he was apprehended again,” the official told ANI.
Although the accused was rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival. A police officer was also reportedly injured in the scuffle. The Karnataka government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the grieving family.
The victim’s family, originally from Koppal district, is devastated after the incident. The deceased girl's mother works works as a house help and at a beauty parlour, while her father is a painter.
Local residents had also staged a protest outside the Ashok Nagar police station, demanding justice for the child.
