President Droupadi Murmu calls for rededication to Ambedkar’s ideals

President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday extended greetings to citizens on the eve of Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and urged everyone to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the architect of the Constitution.

In her message, the President said, “On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar, the architect of our Constitution, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens.”

President Murmu said despite facing immense hardships, Babasaheb carved out a distinct identity for himself and earned global respect through his extraordinary achievements.

“A man of prodigious abilities and multifaceted personality, Babasaheb was an economist, educationist, jurist and a great social reformer,” she said. “He was an ardent advocate of an egalitarian society and waged a lifelong struggle for the economic and social rights of women and deprived classes.”

Highlighting Ambedkar’s belief in education, she said he viewed it as a powerful instrument for social change and the empowerment of the marginalised.

“His contributions across various fields will continue to inspire future generations to work with dedication towards nation-building,” the President added.

She called upon all citizens to adopt Dr Ambedkar’s ideals in their own lives and work to build a nation that upholds the spirit of social harmony, equality and justice.

Delhi
