Painkillers, gauzes suggest slain terrorists were in for long haul
The security forces have seized made in Pakistan gauzes, painkillers and syringes from the possession of three terrorists who were gunned down in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Friday.
The US made M-4 carbine and two AK-47 rifles along with bullets and other ammunition were also seized, hinting that the ultras had come for a long haul.
Sources said injections along with multiple medicines and gauzes suggested that the Pakistani Army was also giving basic training in surgery to the terrorists. “This training is being given so that if they sustain injury during encounter with security forces, they can be treated without coming out of the forest area,” said the sources.
The gauzes recovered from the terrorists clearly mention the manufacturer —Rehman Rainbow Pvt Ltd — with an address 82-M, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Kot Lakhpat, Quaid e Azam Industrial Estate, Lahore. Band-aids manufactured in Pakistan were also seized from the ultras.
The terrorists who hide deep in forests for weeks use pain killers and medicines, with basic knowledge imparted during their training in Pakistan. The ultras hiding in forest areas either get their food supply from over ground workers (OGW) or forcefully from the residents living close to these forests.
The identity of three terrorists killed in the encounter has so far not been revealed by the security forces. Some reports suggested that one of the ultra is a terror commander but that has not been confirmed by the J&K police or Army.
The forces also seized 11 magazines, 65 bullets of M4 and 56 bullets AK-47. The US made M-4 carbine has become a headache for the security forces in the past two years. Terrorists have been found using night vision scopes and even thermal imaging scopes atop these guns to target jawans with precision. The weapons reached the terrorists after the US Army left Afghanistan and thousands of M-4 entered Pakistan illegally.
The search operation in the forest area of Chatroo continued even on Sunday as the security forces earlier said all ultras hiding in the jungles would be eliminated.
