Isha Ambani, the only daughter of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, got married to Anand Piramal in a grand ceremony held at the Ambani residence, Antilia, in Mumbai on December 12, 2018. Anand Piramal heads the financial services businesses of the Piramal Group, which is one of India’s largest and most diversified NBFCs. Anand holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He was also the youngest President of the Youth Wing of the 100-year-old Indian Merchant Chambers.

Speaking of his family, Anand’s father, Ajay Piramal, is the chairman of the Piramal Group. Meanwhile, her mother, Dr. Swati Piramal is the Vice-Chairperson of Piramal Group, a global business conglomerate with diverse interests in pharmaceuticals, financial services and real estate.

Meanwhile, Nandini Piramal, sister of Anand Piramal, is the Chairperson of Piramal Pharma Limited (PPL) and heads PPL’s Human Resources, Finance, Risk, Information Technology and Quality functions. It is to be noted that Nandini Piramal, a prominent businesswoman and a key figure in the Piramal Group, is the sister-in-law of Isha Ambani. She holds a BA (Hons.) in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Oxford University. She also has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She plays a significant part in running their Rs. 9,087 crore empire.  Piramal is also an advisor to Piramal Foundation which has impacted the lives of over 143 million Indians in its lifetime in areas ranging from gender, public health to education and purified water.

One of Nandini Piramal’s most notable achievements came in 2010, when she was instrumental in orchestrating a landmark business transaction—the sale of Piramal Group’s domestic pharmaceutical business to global healthcare giant Abbott Laboratories for a staggering USD 3.8 billion, which amounted to approximately ₹31,638 crore at the time, as reported by Forbes.

Although Nandini Piramal’s personal net worth remains undisclosed, she belongs to one of India’s wealthiest industrialist families. Her father, Ajay Piramal, has a real-time net worth of approximately USD 2.8 billion (around ₹23,307 crore). In line with this financial stature, the Piramal Group recorded a total revenue of ₹9,087 crore in the financial year 2023.
