Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated White Revolution 2.0 in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
"Madhya Pradesh holds immense potential in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry," said minister Shah while addressing the National Cooperative Conference at Bhopal’s Ravindra Bhavan on April 13.
“I believe we need to do a lot of work to fully tap into our potential,” minister Shah stated.
He further added, “Even today, cooperation remains a state subject. The Government of India cannot change its position in the State List. However, how we revive taxation, boost the dairy sector, expand cooperatives in production, and ensure smooth functioning of urban cooperative banks, district cooperative banks, and rural banks that is our responsibility.”

‘We Will Improve Farmers’ Lives,’ CM Yadav
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the Madhya Pradesh government will purchase cow’s milk and ensure that farmers’ lives are improved.
6 MoUs signed between NDDB & MP State Dairy Federation
During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
Additionally, six separate MoUs were signed between NDDB and six regional milk unions in the state.
NDDB takes responsibility of MP's Dairy Federation
NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah stated that the responsibility of Dairy Federation is being given to NDDB. A formal agreement has been signed between the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
He added that MP is a key state for the Central Government’s 'White Revolution 2.0.'
Under this plan, several targets have been set - milk collection by cooperatives will be increased from 12 lakh to 24 lakh liters per day, the capacity of dairy plants in the state will be expanded from 18 lakh to 30 lakh liters per day, and efforts will be made to boost productivity in animal breeding, nutrition, and healthcare. Additionally, the initiative will promote biogas production, dung management, and organic farming.

He arrived in Bhopal at around 1:30 pm. He was welcomed at the state hangar by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
The conference was chaired by CM Mohan Yadav. The event was attended by Cooperation Minister Vishvas Sarang, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Lakhan Patel, along with officials from NDDB and the state’s cooperative and dairy departments.
Before the conference, Shah had lunch with the Madhya Pradesh cabinet at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal.
Name 'Sanchi' Will Not Be Changed
Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Lakhan Patel stated, the name of Sanchi is not going to be change and the agreement will be valid for five years.
Patel added that the Sanchi staff is not going to be replaced. Also, the agreement aims to double the income of farmers.
Currently, 10 lakh liters of milk is being collected daily from around 2.5 lakh farmers at present. After the MoU with NDDB, the number of cooperative societies will increase from 6k to 9k. He added that milk collection, which stands at 10 lakh liters per day today, will be scaled up to 20 lakh liters per day.
Additionally, a budget of ₹1,447 crore has been allocated for this project.
