UP Property Dealer Forces Woman To Drink Alcohol, Strangles Her To Death, Later Burns Her Body In Etawah; Arrested With Accomplice
A 25-year-old woman was killed by a property dealer over a property dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah. Police arrested the accused, Shivendra Yadav, 26, and his accomplice Gaurav, 19, around 1 PM on Saturday.
According to reports, the accused called the victim, 25-year-old Anjali, on the pretext of handing over the property papers. They then allegedly forced her to consume alcohol.
According to police, the accused claimed that he choked the victim to death using a gamcha (a traditional cloth) after she allegedly demanded money. He also claimed that the woman was in a relationship with him.
After strangling Anjali to death, the accused burned her body and disposed of it in a river, as per police.
Anjali's remains were found on Saturday in a severely damaged condition near the river, after she had been missing for five days. According to police, the suspect made a video call to show the victim’s body to his father and spouse. An investigation began after Anjali's relatives discovered her burned scooter near a drainage area and pointed to the property dealer as the murderer.
According to her sister Kiran, the accused had received ₹6 lakh from Anjali for the property and later lured her with promises of documentation before killing her. During police questioning, both Yadav and his associate admitted to committing the crime.
