Hanuman Jayanti violence in Guna, Madhya Pradesh: Clashes erupt during religious procession, both sides trade allegations
Tensions flared in Guna’s Kamlganj area of Madhya Pradesh during a Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra on Sunday when the religious procession was attacked with stones. According to reports, stones were allegedly pelted from a nearby mosque, and a viral video shows individuals emerging from the mosque and assaulting devotees with sticks and swords. Several participants in the procession were reportedly injured.The situation escalated quickly, prompting the deployment of heavy police force. The administration managed to bring the situation under control, and FIRs have been filed against 15 to 20 individuals, including five named accused. Devotees claim they were targeted deliberately and beaten with belts, while members from the other side allege that provocative slogans and disorderly conduct triggered the clash. Both sides continue to blame each other for initiating the violence. Authorities remain on high alert in the area, with tensions still lingering despite a visible return to calm.
