Amid rising tension with China, Russia, US building new nuclear bomb named…, it is 24 times more powerful than…
Gravity N-bomb: Japan is the only country to have borne the brunt of a nuclear attack and the United States is the only country that has used nuclear weapons. It happened on August 6, 1945, when the American Boeing B-29 Superfortress, the Enola Gay, dropped the nuclear weapon “Little Boy” on Hiroshima. Such was the impact that more than 70,000 people were killed instantly. In a scene straight out of hell, many people and objects were vaporised due to the excessive heat produced by the bomb. It is documented that Little Boy, upon detonation, produced a fireball that raised temperatures to 7,000 degrees Celsius.
Now imagine a nuclear weapon that is 24 times powerful than the Little Boy!
Disturbing reports suggest that the United States has advanced the production of the B61-13 nuclear gravity bomb in a major policy shift since it was initially planned for 2037. Reports say that timeline has been pushed up to 2026. The major factors behind this development are said to be the Russia-Ukraine war and the explosive situation in the West Asia region. Reports further say that the replacement of older bombs is expected to finalised by 2028.
The B61-13 nuclear gravity bomb is said to be a powerful, formidable nuclear weapon which is being designed and developed to replace the older nuclear weapons that are in the US nuclear arsenal. These nuclear weapons are made at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico.
The B61-13 nuclear gravity bomb will be carried by the impending Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider stealth bomber which is an intercontinental strategic bomber in development for the United States Air Force (USAF). It is designed to deliver both conventional and nuclear weapons and is part of the Long-Range Strike Bomber programme.
The B61-13 bomb is touted to be 24 times more powerful than the device dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945. It will be a weapon of mass destruction with a yield of 360 kilotons, or 360,000 tonnes of TNT. According to experts, if used on a densely populated city like Beijing, it could kill nearly 800,000 people and cause injuries to more than 2 million. The heat that will be unleashed would be so intense that everything within a half-mile radius would be vaporized. This makes little Boy sound like indeed a little boy at par with a robust, fully grown adult warrior.
The project was reportedly initiated by the Biden administration in 2023 as America feared that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine might lead to a broader conflict in Europe.
