Airport Terminal Close: Terminal-2 of this airport is closing from April 15 till further orders, know where you can get flights
Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 operations will remain completely closed from April 15 until further notice. Work is going on round the clock to make the departure area of Terminal 1 operational at full capacity. Passengers are advised to update their flight status and terminal information before leaving home.
Airport Terminal Close: From April 15 till further orders, the movement of aircraft at Terminal 2 will be completely stopped. From this day onwards, the movement of about 270 flights from Terminal 2 will be shifted to Terminal 1. These flights are of Indigo and Akasa Airlines.
At present, the departure area of Terminal 1 is not running at full capacity, work is going on here day and night to start working at full capacity from April 15. At present, efforts are being made to complete all the work inside and outside the terminal before April 14.
On Friday, a large team of workers was seen busy completing the incomplete work in the forecourt area. Carpeting is being done on all the lanes of the forecourt area. Apart from this, electrical work is also going on at various places.
The engineers engaged in the work said that we are working with the target of completing the civil work on 12th April. The electrical work is also going on at a fast pace. We have to complete all the work by 13th April at any cost.
What is the current situation?
At present, the forecourt of Terminal 1 is built on the first floor of the terminal. Here only half of the departure area is working. Only half the gates are available for passengers for entry. There is so little space here that some airlines do not get space on the first floor for departure.
They use the departure gate on the ground floor. This creates confusion among the passengers. Especially among those passengers who come here for interchange from Terminal 3 or 2. They have the same image of the terminal in their mind in which the ground floor is used for arrival and the first floor is used for departure.
But from 15th April, there will be no confusion. All airlines will be able to use the first floor for departure. The ground floor will be used completely for arrival only. DiziYatra started functioning fully from 15 April.
Advisory issued
IndiGo has told passengers in an advisory issued on Friday that from 15 April, all flights operating from Terminal 2 will be operated from Terminal 1. Passengers are requested to get updated information related to the flight before leaving home. In this, pay special attention to the terminal and flight status.
