Diamond is considered to be the most precious and expensive gem in the world. But if we tell you that diamond is not the most expensive and rare gem in the world, will you believe it? Very little is known about Kyawhthuit. The name of the world’s second rare mineral is Paynite. Paynite is a deep red colored hexagonal crystal.

Although, as an exception, it is sometimes found in pink colour. Painite is now more easily available than before, but it is still rare. In 1952, gemstone collector and dealer Arthur Penn discovered two crystals in Myanmar. Pennite is named after Arthur Penn.

The second sample of Paynite was found in Myanmar in 1979 and the third sample was found in Myanmar in 2001. These are the only three samples of Paynite in the whole world.
