TVK Chief Vijay Calls DMK And BJP 'Secret Allies'; Says AIADMK-BJP Alliance 'No Surprise'
Actor-turned-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay launched a sharp attack on both the DMK and BJP, accusing the two rival parties of maintaining a covert political understanding while pretending to be adversaries in public.
'DMK-BJP Are Secret Allies': Vijay
In a strongly worded press statement issued on Saturday, Vijay criticised the BJP for its divisive politics and alleged moral decline, while accusing the DMK of fostering a corrupt political culture in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that despite their public animosity, the two parties function as “secret partners” behind the scenes.
“The BJP, ruling at the Centre, and the DMK, heading the state government, appear as enemies to the public, but they are in fact silent allies,” Vijay claimed. He pointed out that in other states, action is taken even against powerful leaders like chief ministers when corruption surfaces, but in Tamil Nadu, those facing action conveniently "travel to Delhi" — an apparent jibe at leaders allegedly seeking cover through political connections.
Vijay questioned why such accused leaders escape scrutiny and return to act as though "no corruption ever occurred." He suggested this pattern shows clear collusion between the BJP and DMK, both of whom he claimed are staging a drama for electoral gain.
AIADMK-BJP Alliance: 'No Suprise'
On the renewed AIADMK-BJP alliance, Vijay said it came as no surprise. "The BJP has openly embraced its old ally, the AIADMK, while it continues to keep the DMK as its indirect partner,” he said, calling the coalition a “forced alliance” that Tamil Nadu voters have rejected multiple times in the past.
Anticipating the narrative for the 2026 Assembly elections, Vijay said the BJP will project itself as the main opposition to the DMK, while the DMK will reciprocate — creating an illusion of rivalry. “But the people of Tamil Nadu are awake now. They see through the drama,” he asserted.
Positioning his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, as the genuine alternative, Vijay declared that TVK would contest the 2026 elections as the sole challenger to the “anti-people, anti-democratic forces.” He concluded by alleging that the people have already made up their minds and are ready to deliver a decisive verdict that will reshape the political landscape of Tamil Nadu.
