This terminal has now created history after it received a 5-star airport terminal rating from Skytrax which is a global organization that measures the excellence of airports. Terminal 2 (T2) of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has become the first airport terminal in India to receive this rating.
Skytrax awarded the honour following a rigorous audit that evaluated over 800 passenger-facing aspects across more than 30 categories , including terminal design, cleanliness, use of digital technology, security, passenger services, inclusivity, environmentally friendly practices and guest hospitality, all to ensure that passengers always receive a world-class experience.
Terminal sets an example
Hari Marar, MD and CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), said this honour firmly places Bengaluru on the global aviation map. “We are grateful to our passengers, stakeholders and employees whose continued trust and support made this achievement possible,” he said.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted praised the airport’s efforts. He said the 5-star airport terminal rating is the highest honour an airport can receive. He added, “BLR Airport has set an example by achieving this standard. It reflects an exceptional commitment to passenger experience.”
Bengaluru Airport has received another big recognition. For the third consecutive year, Kempegowda International Airport has been selected as the ‘Best Airport for Arrivals in the World’ in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award 2024 by Airports Council International (ACI).
Terminal 2 of Bengaluru Airport has always been in the headlines. It was launched in 2022. The airport has been built keeping in mind the image of Bengaluru’s ‘Garden City’. Its architecture has always attracted travelers from all over the world.
