The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has welcomed two new faces to its Board of Administration for the 2024–2028 Olympic cycle: Isha Ambani and Louise Bawden. Their addition is set to bring fresh energy, new ideas, and important representation from both the business and sports worlds. According to media reports, Ambani and Bawden have been brought on board under Article 2.4.1.5 of the FIVB Constitution, which gives the FIVB President the right to appoint up to four members in special categories. This rule helps make sure that the board reflects a wide range of voices and experiences.

Isha Ambani has joined the Board as a representative of the gender-in-minority category. A prominent figure in the corporate space, she holds key leadership roles at Reliance Industries Limited, one of India’s largest and most influential companies. She also leads operations at Reliance Retail, where she’s been instrumental in its rapid growth, especially in the areas of digital innovation and e-commerce.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Ambani is a strong advocate for workplace diversity. She heads the group’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts, promoting opportunities for women and creating more inclusive work environments. Her mix of business insight and passion for equality is expected to add valuable depth to the FIVB’s leadership team.

At the same time, Louise Bawden has been appointed to the FIVB Board following her selection by fellow members of the FIVB Athletes’ Commission. A seasoned Olympian who has represented her country in both indoor and beach volleyball, Bawden brings a wealth of experience from the highest levels of the sport.

Having been part of the Athletes’ Commission since 2021, she was recently elected as its President in 2024 for a four-year term. Her journey as a three-time Olympian and her ongoing efforts to support and represent athletes make her a strong voice on the Board.
