4 held for selling fake SIM, ATM cards to cyber thugs
The Nuh police (cyber crime) has busted a cyber-racket, arresting four accused. The arrested persons had come to Nuh to sell fake SIM and ATM cards.
The police recovered eight fake SIM cards, one ATM card and a car from their possession. An FIR was registered against the accused at the Nuh cyber police station in this regard. According to the police, the accused have been identified as Shivam Pratap, Adarsh Tiwari, Ankit Singh and Anurag, residents of Amethi district in Uttar Pradesh.
All were arrested on Thursday, when they came to the district to sell fake SIM and ATM cards to cyber thugs.
A spokesperson of the Nuh police said the accused had been running a racket where they made fake SIM cards and ATM cards, and sold them to cyber thugs in the area.
“The gang was active in providing resources to cyber criminals for a long time, through which cyber fraud incidents were being carried out in the area. A thorough investigation is being conducted to find out other possible connections of the racket. We are also trying to find out in which crimes these fake SIM and ATM cards were used,” added the Nuh police spokesperson.
