Traffic cops honoured for exemplary work

The Human Rights Council of India (Anti-Corruption Cell) honoured traffic police officers in Phagwara for their dedicated efforts in maintaining smooth traffic management across the city. The special felicitation ceremony was held under the leadership of Punjab state president of the council, Raman Nehra.

During the event, traffic in-charge Inspector Aman Kumar, ASIs Sohan Singh, Amarjeet Singh and Ram Murti were recognised for their commendable work. Raman Nehra praised the Phagwara traffic police for playing a significant role in streamlining the city’s traffic system through consistent dedication and discipline.

He said following the directions of Superintendent of Police Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, the traffic police have successfully resolved the long-standing issue of traffic congestion caused by stationary buses outside the bus stand. Nehra added that such efforts deserve immense appreciation. In addition, illegal encroachments by shopkeepers in market areas have been removed, easing pedestrian and vehicle movement. Nehra further noted that managing traffic during major religious processions such as Shobha Yatras and Nagar Kirtans is particularly challenging, yet the Phagwara traffic police have consistently performed with excellence.
