Three drug peddlers held
The Shahkot and Lohian Khas police have arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling intoxicant tablets. Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said 163 intoxicant tablets (loose) were recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Sandeep Singh, alias Anda, a resident of Ward No. 8, Lohian Khas, and 50 intoxicant tablets (loose) were recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Sahil, alias Sukha, a resident Saidpur Jhirri village.
The DSP said cases under Sections 22/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Act were registered against the accused at the Lohian Khas and Shahkot police stations against the two accused.
The Nurmahal police also arrested a drug peddler identified as Akashdeep, alias Tula, a resident of Bijli Daftar Colony after recovering 60 intoxicant tablets (loose) from him, said investigating officer Bodh Raj.
