Delhi Speaker: File action taken reports on CAG findings by April 30
A high-level meeting to review the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports was held at the Old Secretariat, Delhi Legislative Assembly, here, on Friday, under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta.
The meeting focused on strengthening audit accountability and timely action on financial and governance-related observations flagged by the national auditor.
Mohan Singh Bisht, Deputy Speaker; Ajay Mahawar, chairperson of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC); Gajender Drall, chairperson of the Committee on Government Undertakings; and Roli Shukla Malge, Accountant General (Audit), Delhi; were present at the meeting.
In a significant move, Speaker Vijender Gupta directed officials to submit a detailed report on the supply and regulation of liquor by April 20. He also instructed departments concerned to file action taken reports (ATRs) on the CAG findings by April 30.
The Accountant General (Audit), Delhi, presented a detailed overview of the key findings from the latest audit reports. The presentation was followed by a review of the audit para monitoring system (APMS) and discussions on action taken notes (ATNs) related to reports laid before the House during the second Session of the Delhi Assembly.
Emphasising the importance of audit mechanisms, Speaker Gupta said timely responses to audit observations were crucial to ensure transparency and good governance. He urged departments to establish robust accountability frameworks and expedite follow-up actions on CAG recommendations.
