Ayushman Bharat implementation will be expedited: South Delhi MP

South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Friday chaired a meeting of the District Development Committee for south-east Delhi, directing officials to expedite the implementation of Central schemes and ensure civic preparedness ahead of the monsoons. Emphasising the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Bidhuri said camps would be set up across the district to facilitate the creation of Ayushman cards, particularly targeting senior citizens (above 70 years of age). “Implementation of all Central schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, will be expedited. Cleaning of all drains will be ensured before the monsoon,” he said.

Co-chairperson and MP Bansuri Swaraj, MLAs Neeraj Basoya and Chandan Chaudhary, DM Anil Baka, DCP (South-East) Ravikumar Singh, DCP (Traffic) Kushal Pal Singh and DC (Central Zone) Gurpal Singh were among those present at the meeting.

Officials were directed to prioritise the identification of land for establishing 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

Bidhuri instructed civic agencies to accelerate repairs of roads, drains, drainage lines and community infrastructure such as marriage halls in rural parts of the district under the Gramodaya Yojana.

The MP stressed the need to ensure timely disbursal of benefits under welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.

To improve civic conditions, Bidhuri instructed authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan for uninterrupted drinking water supply, including the installation of new tubewells wherever necessary. He also called for the removal of illegal encroachments on roads and footpaths to ease traffic congestion and ensure smoother pedestrian movement.
