Namo Bharat train will soon run till this station of Delhi, big update arrived

NCRTC has charged the OHE between New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat stations in Delhi section of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor to 25 kV capacity. With this significant achievement, another step has been taken towards operationalisation of the corridor. Trial runs will be started in this section soon.

Namo Bharat train: In the Delhi section of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, NCRTC has crossed another important milestone towards the operation of the corridor.

The OHE in the section between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat stations has been charged at a capacity of 25 kV, that is, now the OHE installed between the two stations has been electrified for the operation of trains. Trial runs will be started in this section soon.

Distance between the two stations

There is a section of about four km between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat station, on which electricity will be supplied from Sarai Kale Khan RSS in future. There will be 66 kV power supply at this RSS, from where 25 kV will be supplied for the operation of trains in the section and 33 kV power will be supplied for the stations built on the corridor.

For this, NCRTC has signed an agreement with Delhi Transco Limited and Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS). Currently, electricity is being supplied in this section by Ghaziabad RSS.

It is worth noting that 25 kV high voltage cable from RSS is installed on the feeding post and is delivered to the train’s Over Head Equipment (OHE) through poles and cantilevers. These overhead wires of high quality and capacity are capable of running the train at full capacity. The design speed of Namo Bharat trains is 180 km/h.

Now this work is complete

The OHE installed on this corridor has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of such high speed and high frequency trains. In the 14 km long Delhi section, the operation of Namo Bharat trains has already started at Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations and now Sarai Kale Khan station is also being developed.
