MG Windsor Achieves Fastest 20,000 EV Sales in India
JSW MG Motor India has reported that the MG Windsor has achieved sales of 20,000 units within six months of its launch, making it the fastest electric vehicle in India to reach this figure. The model has recorded consistent demand across both metropolitan areas and smaller markets.
The MG Windsor is offered under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, with a base price of INR 9.99 lakh and an additional INR 3.9 per kilometre for battery usage. It is positioned as a Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), combining elements of both sedans and SUVs.
The vehicle is equipped with a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery, producing 100 kW (136 PS) of power and 200 Nm of torque. It offers an ARAI-certified range of 332 km on a single charge. These figures are aimed at meeting the basic requirements of daily and short-distance travel.
The design includes what the company calls an ‘AeroGlide’ exterior and a 15.6-inch touchscreen on the central console. The interior features seats that recline up to 135 degrees. These features are configured to increase functionality and provide flexibility in seating and display interaction.
Rakesh Sen, Director Sales & Marketing at JSW MG Motor India, stated that the sales figures reflect the company’s approach to addressing market barriers around electric vehicle adoption. The data suggests a shift in consumer interest towards electric options in both major cities and developing areas.
This sales milestone is part of JSW MG Motor’s broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle lineup and strengthen its presence in the Indian EV market.
