'IPL Is A Marathon Not Sprint': Kevin Pietersen Sends Out Cautious Message After Delhi Capitals Beat RCB To Maintain Unbeaten Run
Delhi Capitals' brilliant run in IPL 2025 continued as they beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 6 wickets in their own backyard which extended their winning streak to four matches. They are the only team who have not lost a match in the tournament so far.
But amid the side's brilliant unbeaten run, team mentor Kevin Pietersen sent out a message which had caution and celebration. The former England captain acknowledged the current momentum but urged calm as the group stage edges toward its crunch phase while praising Vipraj Nigam.
Pietersen, in his message wrote,"Quick reminder - the IPL is a marathon and not a sprint. Whilst it’s so good that we’re playing like we are, all of us know that the biggest games are in May! It really is so nice to be winning for our @DelhiCapitals supporters though. Special mention to our young superstar, Vippi! Some young man he is!"
KL Rahul's masterclass keeps DC's winning streak alive
Delhi’s latest win was built on a KL Rahul masterclass. Fresh off his 77 against Chennai, Rahul remained unbeaten on 93 off 53 balls, anchoring the chase with poise after a top-order wobble. He and Tristan Stubbs (38*) stitched together an unbroken 111-run partnership, guiding Delhi to 169-4 with 14 balls to spare.
Speaking about the innings Rahul in his post match talks said," I knew what my shots are. Just wanted to get off to a good start, be aggressive initially and assess it from there.Wicketkeeping gave me a feeler for how the other batters played and where were they dismissed. Got lucky with the dropped catch. This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else. Enjoyed playing here.
