Family Of 4 Found Dead By Hanging In Kerala's Idukki, Suicide Suspected

Four members of a family were found dead at their residence in Upputhara, a remote village in Kerala's Idukki district, on Thursday. The deceased members of the same family include the head of family Sajeev Mohanan, his wife Reshma, and their two young children, aged six and four.

The local residents said, Sajeev, an auto-rickshaw driver, had been facing financial difficulties. Authorities believe the couple may have killed their children before taking their own lives by suicide, though forensic tests and further investigation are needed to confirm the circumstances, as per a report on PTI.

Financial Constrain Led To Suicide?

According to the police, all four bodies were discovered hanging in the living room of their home. Initial findings point to a suspected case of suicide, though a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The police also reportedly found a suicide note revealing financial constrain as the reason behind the extreme step. They also stated that the couple had received a loan from a private finance agency to purchase the auto and were struggling to repay it, as per a report on Times of India.

An FIR has been registered, and police officials have initiated a full investigation.
