SBI, Ambuja to set up skill development centres in Himachal, Gujarat

The State Bank of India Funds Management (SBIFM) today announced its partnership with Ambuja Foundation to establish new skill training centres at Una in Himachal Pradesh and Gandhinagar and Sanand in Gujarat.

In a press release, Nand Kishore, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, SBIFM, stated, “The collaboration aims to train and equip over 3,600 youth from these regions with essential skills over the next three years, thereby enhancing their employability across various industries.” He said the project was designed to cultivate a highly skilled workforce across multiple sectors, including banking, financial services and insurance, services industry and manufacturing sector.

“Spanning a minimum of three years, the initiative will adopt a structured approach encompassing skill development, mobilisation, placement support and rigorous project monitoring to ensure long-term success and impact,” he said.

Nand Kishore said, “The training curriculum will be meticulously designed in alignment with industry standards. The training centres will provide practical experience through role play, demonstrations, simulations, projects and case studies.”

He said the trainees’ competency assessments and certifications would be awarded by bodies such as National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) for the BFSI sector skill council and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for other sectors.
