Exclusive: High-security interrogation begins for 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana at NIA HQ

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case, is now in India and currently being held in a high-security cell under the strict supervision of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The cell, secured with multiple layers of security and digital monitoring, allows only senior officials authorized access. Interrogation proceedings are set to begin shortly and will be conducted under full CCTV surveillance, with two cameras recording every detail to ensure the statements can be used as admissible evidence in court. This precaution is taken to prevent any retraction of confessions during trial. The NIA is leaving no room for error, holding internal meetings to structure the questioning, which is likely to begin around 11 AM. The 14x14 feet cell includes basic amenities like a ground-level bed and an internal toilet. Rana’s extradition from the US is seen as a breakthrough, as he holds crucial information linking Pakistan’s ISI and army to global terror networks.
