Star India wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul rose to the occasion with a match-winning unbeaten 93, guiding Delhi Capitals (DC) to a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 24th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. Interestingly, it wasn’t just KL Rahul’s match-winning innings that grabbed eyeballs, but also his spirited celebration that has gone viral on social media.
Chasing 164, DC were reeling at 58/4, but Rahul, alongside Tristan Stubbs, stitched a crucial 111-run unbeaten partnership for the fifth wicket to seal the victory and guide Delhi to their fourth consecutive IPL 2025 win in as many matches and remain unbeaten in the season so far.

After sealing the win with a six off Yash Dayal over fine leg, KL Rahul twirled his bat and stomped it on the pitch in a fiery celebration, as if to declare the ground his own. Rahul, charged with emotion, seemed to mouth a few fiery words while seemingly asserting his claim over the ground — a passionate display from the hometown hero who has spent a significant part of his cricketing career at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Videos of Rahul’s animated celebration have gone viral on social media. In another widely shared clip, he can be heard telling DC skipper Axar Patel, “Mera ground hai ye (this is my ground),” during the customary post-match handshake.
