But now the government has found a solution to this problem. The government has launched a new Aadhaar app which will keep your identity safe and make verification easy everywhere. Now you will not need to carry the original or photo copy of the Aadhaar card in your purse. All the work of sharing your information will be done in just one tap.

How to use the Aadhaar app?

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Railways and Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnav on April 8 shared the features of this app while explaining the benefits of this app.

Sharing of selected data – Many times you are asked for only your Aadhaar number or address or any one thing. Before the Aadhaar app, we had to show the entire Aadhaar card. Now in this app, the user will have complete control. Now you will not have to share the complete details of Aadhaar, but only the information that has been asked in just one tap from this app.

Instant verification through QR code- This app also has a QR code scanning feature, which will work just like UPI payment. Soon these QR codes will be installed at places like hotels, airports, railway stations, so that time can be saved in giving identity proof and doing other formalities. Now the user just has to scan the QR code from the app. After this, your identity will be verified immediately through face recognition technology in the app.

Paperless verification- Till now, while booking travel or hotel or using any service, you were often asked for a photo copy of Aadhaar. But now through this app, you will be able to share Aadhaar details digitally, that too at your own will. This will not only provide convenience, but your information will also be safe.

Aadhaar app will help prevent scams- Privacy has been taken great care of in this new app of UIDAI. User information will neither be shared without permission nor is it possible to do photo-shopping or editing it. Scams like showing fake Aadhaar can now be prevented through this app.

Face Recognition- This app is equipped with simple features like face scan, so that it can be used even by people who do not have much understanding of technology. Be it a village or a city, verification will be possible anytime, anywhere with the QR code.

When will the Aadhaar app be launched for the public?

At present, this new Aadhaar app is running in beta testing i.e. trial mode. First of all, it has been given to those people who attended the ‘Aadhaar Samvad’ event or are users associated with the beginning. UIDAI has said that the app will be improved keeping in mind whatever feedback will be received from these people and other system partners. After getting the feedback, this app will soon be launched for all people.

Where to download the new Aadhaar app?

The new app is still in trial mode and is currently available to limited users only. After getting feedback from the users using this app, UIDAI will launch it for the public on the official platform. It can be downloaded from Google Play Store (for Android) and Apple App Store (for iOS).
