Tom Hiddleston teases the return of Loki in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

After much speculation, Tom Hiddleston was confirmed to make a long-awaited return to the big screen in the Russo brothers' next Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) directorial Avengers: Doomsday. The announcement came towards the end of March, when the official cast list was made known in a dramatic five-and-a-half-hour YouTube livestream.

Now, in a recent interview, Hiddleston teased that the Loki era is “not over yet”. (I'm) very, very excited. It's really remarkable that I can talk about it because mostly I'm in a position of knowing and not being able to say anything it's been an extraordinary chapter of my life playing Loki, and it's not over yet," the actor told ComicBook.
Hiddleston first made his MCU debut in the 2011 film Thor, playing the villainous Loki. The God of Mischief has been a familiar face since having appeared in The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and a post-credits scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The actor also got a television series Loki, currently streaming on JioHotstar, surrounding the events post-Endgame, exploring the long talked about multiverse theory.
Unlike the other MCU characters, Loki, very true to his God of Mischief name, has faked his death multiple times since his appearance in Thor, making the audience believe that that would be the last we saw of him. Hiddleston’s character, who had a significant redemption arc through the course of the films, has “risen” from death four times so far.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated for a release on May 1, 2026.
