PS Plus Free Games For April Announced: Hogwarts Legacy, Battlefield 1, More
PlayStation Plus is turning up the heat this April with a fantastical mix of spellcasting, suspense, and sports. Whether you want to relive school days at Hogwarts, hunt down a disappearing room in a shifting mansion, or smash skyscrapers kaiju-style, this month’s lineup has you covered.
Let’s dive into the most exciting additions to the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe subscribers, plus a couple of retro gems for Premium players that pack a nostalgic punch. All games will be available starting April 15.
A Wizarding World Awaits In Hogwarts Legacy
Step into the 1800s version of Hogwarts and unleash your inner wizard in Hogwarts Legacy, the critically acclaimed action RPG that lets you live the life of a young magic student. Players will journey across familiar haunts and new territories, tame magical beasts, mix powerful potions, and battle dark forces threatening the wizarding world.
As the press release puts it, “Your legacy is what you make of it.” You’ll be wielding spells, forging friendships, and ultimately determining the fate of the magical realm.
Day-One Mysteries And Time-Hopping Narratives
Two indie titles are joining the Game Catalog on release day: Blue Prince and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2. In Blue Prince, launching April 10, players find themselves in the eerie manor of Mt. Holly, where the architecture itself seems to have a mind of its own. Your goal? Locate the elusive Room 46 while unraveling a tangled history of secrets, politics, and a missing children’s author.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2, available April 15, continues the story that began in February’s debut episode. The tale switches between 1995 and 2022, bringing four friends back together to confront life-altering secrets from their youth. “Together, they must confront the fateful memories that have eluded them for the past 27 years,” the release says.
Tee Off, Take Cover, Or Tackle The Kitchen
Also dropping into the catalog this month is EA Sports PGA Tour (April 11), the ultimate golf simulator for fans of the green. With “unrivaled access to the world’s most exclusive golf courses,” the game offers both realism and customization, letting players work their way toward Major victories.
On the opposite end of the action spectrum, Battlefield 1 returns players to World War I with sprawling maps and large-scale multiplayer warfare. Prefer something lighter? PlateUp! offers a zany kitchen management experience where up to four players can build and run a restaurant, complete with chaotic cooking and procedural upgrades.
Retro Treats For Deluxe Members
PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscribers get a slice of old-school horror and monster mayhem this month. The classic Alone in the Dark 2 lets players once again step into Edward Carnby’s shoes for another supernatural mystery. Meanwhile, 2003’s War of the Monsters makes a comeback in glorious HD, offering up destructive cityscapes and oversized brawls between robots, beasts, and mutants.
Whether you're in the mood for emotional storytelling, strategic puzzle-solving, or good old-fashioned button mashing, April’s PlayStation Plus lineup makes sure your controller stays busy.
