Om Puri’s ex-wife Seema Kapoor reveals shocking details about ‘another woman’ Nandita Puri in their marriage: ‘She entered his life when I was pregnant…’

Late actor Om Puri’s first wife Seema Kapoor is a writer and director. She recently opened up about the emotional strain she went through during her marriage to Puri, specifically when he was having an extra-marital affair with journalist Nandita Puri. Seema is veteran actor Annu Kapoor’s sister. She recently launched her autobiography, “Yun Guzri Hai Ab Talak,” in which she spoke her heart out.

Seema Kapoor was married to Om Puri in 1991, but their marriage ended in divorce after a year and a half. She revealed that she discovered Om’s infidelity during their marriage. Two years later, the actor married Nandita.

Speaking about the difficult period in her life when ‘other woman’ in her life entered, Seema shared the deep emotional turmoil that led her to make the painful decision to walk away from her marriage.

The writer told IANS, “Divorce is never easy, especially when it’s unexpected. I didn’t want the divorce. We had a deep and long-lasting relationship-eleven years of friendship and love before marriage. Sadly, within a year and a half of our marriage, another woman entered his life.”

Seema revealed she was pregnant when Om Puri’s affair with Nandita started. She said, “I don’t believe in fighting over love. When I was pregnant at the time, the emotional strain at home became overwhelming. The presence of Nandita, the woman he had an affair with, made it emotionally distressing. I realized I had to make a difficult decision for my mental well-being-I chose to walk away.”

Seema, in her earlier interview revealed that she lost the baby due to so much happening in her life. At that time, Om Puri didn’t come, instead, he sent his secretray with Rs 25,000 as a compensation, but she refused to accept the amount. She also recalled how unpleasant things became after he confessed to having fallen in love with the other woman, Nandita, whom he’d go on to marry and have a son with.

Things didn’t go as per the plan for Om Puri. In 2013, Nandita filed an allegation of domestic violence against him, and the two opted for a judicial separation shortly afterwards. His second wife reported that they kept a “secular house”, but that “while Om is not ritualistic, he does not mind others being so”.
