IAS Anudeep Durishetty secured All India Rank(AIR) 1 in Civil Services(Main) Examination 2017 in his fifth attempt. Hailing from Telangana, Anudeep completed his schooling from Shri Suryoday High School. Later in 2011, Anudeep pursued his engineering studies in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS Pilani.

Speaking of his work experience, Anudeep worked as a software engineer at Google (in Hyderabad). Coming back to his UPSC journey, his first attempt was in 2012, where he had to face a setback. If Media reports are to be believed, he even appeared in 2013 and was selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). Following his selection, he served as an Assistant Commissioner in the Customs and Central Excise Department.

Anudeep Durishetty always aspired to become an IAS officer. Even after facing several setbacks, he stayed determined and didn’t lose hope. He appeared for the UPSC exam in 2014 and 2015 but couldn’t achieve his goal. Instead of giving up, these challenges strengthened his resolve. In 2017, on his fifth attempt and without any coaching, he finally cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam and secured All India Rank 1.

Anudeep Durishetty created history by securing the prestigious All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2017. Scoring an impressive 1,126 out of 2,025 marks, he holds the record for the highest marks ever achieved in the UPSC exam.


Speaking of his marksheet, IAS Anudeep Durishetty scored 155 marks in Essay (Paper-I), 123 marks in General Studied-I (Paper-II), and 123 marks in General Studied-II (Paper-III). “I am Anudeep Durishetty, IAS officer of 2018 batch and All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2017. I secured this rank in my 5th attempt. Over the course of my long tryst with UPSC, I had learnt a lot from my mistakes and I consciously worked to rectify them.
