School projects worth Rs 5 cr inaugurated across Patiala

In a step toward improving education infrastructure, 67 development projects worth Rs 5 crore were dedicated to students across 28 government schools in Patiala district. These initiatives, spearheaded by the Punjab Government, are part of a broader effort to uplift infrastructure and academic standards in government primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools.

The inauguration ceremonies were graced by MLAs from various constituencies, including Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra (Sanaur), Gurlal Singh Ghanaur (Ghanaur), Kulwant Singh Bazigar (Shutrana), Chetan Singh Jouramajra (Samana), Gurdev Singh Dev Mann (Nabha) and Neena Mittal (Rajpura), who attended as chief guests. The dignitaries interacted warmly with students and staff, appreciating their efforts and offering encouragement.

To commemorate the occasion, host schools organised educational exhibitions, cultural performances, patriotic songs and interactive sessions, which highlighted the achievements of government schools. These activities also aimed to increase public awareness about the Punjab Government’s ongoing education initiatives and reforms.

Addressing the gatherings, the MLAs shared details of key government measures, including a 12 per cent hike in the education budget, the recruitment of campus managers and security staff and international teacher training programmes conducted in Finland and Singapore to elevate teaching quality.
