NTRNeel: NTR Jr to join shoot of Prashanth Neel project on this date

We recently reported that NTR Jr will be teaming up with KGF and Salaar director Prashanth Neel for a yet-untitled project bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the company behind the Pushpa films. The production house has announced that NTR Jr will be joining the shoot from April 22.

A while ago, the studio shared a behind-the-scenes still of Neel directing a crowd-heavy sequence that sees the presence of police officials, burnt vehicles and hundreds of extras. The image hints at another action-packed entertainer from one of the most exciting filmmakers working today in Indian cinema.

Tentatively titled NTR Jr 31, the film's IMDb logline says it's an "epic action saga with emotionally charged incidents that take place over a periodic timeline people's lives were all connected. In 1969, in the area where the borders of China, Bhutan, and India's Golden Triangle meet."

Rukmini Vasanth is said to be playing the female lead. Ravi Basrur, who worked on the KGF films and Salaar - Part 1, has joined the film.

Earlier, the director clarified that it would be a "periodic film, not a mythological film.”

NTR Jr last appeared in Devara: Part 1. Aside from NTR Jr 31, he is also part of the sequel to the Bollywood blockbuster, War.

Prashanth Neel is expected to begin work on the Salaar sequel after he wraps up work on this film which is slated for release in January 2026.

Recently, in an interaction on the official channel of Hombale, Neel said he was "not completely happy" with how Salaar: Part 1 shaped up, but said his writing in Salaar: Part 2 is one of his best.

"I am a little disappointed with how much effort I put into the first part. Since that happened, I decided to make Salaar 2 my best film. The writing I’ve put in for Salaar 2 makes it one of my best works. I am going to make up for it, I am confident of it. It’ll unquestionably be one of my best works,” he added.
