Delhi Shocker: 19-Yr-Old Boy Brutally Stabbed To Death By Girlfriend's Brothers Over Interfaith Relationship; Two Arrested

New Delhi: In a tragic case of honour killing from northeast Delhi’s Gokulpuri, a 19-year-old boy was stabbed to death by the brothers of a girl he was reportedly in a relationship with.

The deceased, identified as Himanshu alias Chiku, was attacked on Monday (April 7) night by the girl's siblings, who opposed their relationship over religious differences. According to a report by Hindustan Live, the two accused have been identified as Sahil (22) and Shahrukh (19), both residents of the Sanjay Colony.

Himanshu Was Fatally Attacked by 2 Men

As per the report, the attack took place around 8:30 PM on Monday. The two brothers reportedly called Himanshu out of his house under the pretext of having a conversation. Once he was outside the house, they reportedly launched a knife attack on him. Witnesses shared that Himanshu tried to flee from the scene but collapsed mid-way. His mother, who saw him fall, alerted the rest of the family members who immediately rushed him to the GTB Hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead upon his arrival.

Himanshu's family members also alleged that this wasn't the first time Himanshu had been assaulted. According to his uncle, Ajit, the girl's brothers had previously harassed and beaten Himanshu whenever they spotted him alone. Police suspect that another relative from Kashmir may have been involved in luring Himanshu out of his house on the evening of his murder.

Victim's Family Blocked Road To Protest

Following the autopsy, Himanshu’s body was handed over to his family on Tuesday, April 8. Demanding the arrest of the accused, his relatives, along with other local residents staged a protest, blocking the road outside Gokulpuri Chowk, by placing Himanshu's body. The demonstration was also joined by members of the Hindu Raksha Dal, including their leader Pinky Chaudhary.

As per reports, the police have registered a case against the two accused under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intention), and have taken them into custody.

To investigate further into the motive of the crime, forensic teams and crime branch officers also collected evidence from the scene, and reviewed surrounding CCTV footage.
