A quiet night turned into a nightmare for residents of Jalibenchi village in Karnataka’s Yadgir district when a sudden power surge wreaked havoc, sparking fires and damaging around 100 homes.

The electrical overload, which struck late in the night, caused power lines to erupt with sparks, leading to flames that quickly spread across the village. Residents were caught off guard as their electrical appliances exploded or caught fire and thick smoke filled the air. Several people sustained injuries amid the chaos, though no fatalities have been reported so far.
