For zero per cent dropouts, Kaithal admn starts ‘Parvesh Utsav Rath’
In a major initiative aimed at achieving zero dropout rates and ensuring 100 per cent enrolment in government schools, the Kaithal district administration has launched a special campaign named ‘Parvesh Utsav Rath’. As part of the campaign, a specially designed ‘Parvesh Utsav Rath’ was flagged off on Monday by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Preeti from the Mini-Secretariat complex.
Speaking on the occasion, Preeti said the campaign was being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the district. “The Pravesh Utsav Rath will move through various parts of the district to raise awareness among the public about the quality education, improved infrastructure and various facilities being provided in government schools. It will also showcase the achievements of students studying in these schools to boost public confidence and encourage parents to enroll their children in government institutions,” she said.
Preeti emphasised the need for every child to receive education and urged citizens to actively support the initiative. “We are hopeful that more and more people will come forward to enroll their children in government schools. No child should be left behind when it comes to education. A complete route plan has been prepared for the Rath, which began its journey today from Guhla,” she added.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to providing quality education, the DC said, “Government schools offer good education standards and are continuously improving. I appeal to all parents to consider enrolling their children in government schools so that no child remains deprived of the Right to Education.”
For effective results, the Education Department of Kaithal has constituted a 14-member district-level team as part of the Pravesh Utsav campaign.
District Education Officer (DEO) Ramdiya Gagat informed that each team member had been assigned four school clusters and daily reports on admissions were being collected to monitor the progress.
Highlighting the importance of the drive, DEO Gagat said the initiative was being implemented in alignment with Sections 2 and 3 of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009. Under the act, it is mandatory to ensure 100 per cent enrolment and retention of children between the age of 6 and 14 years.
The admission process in all government schools officially began on April 1, 2025. In addition to the district-level efforts, school staff members have been directed to actively promote the campaign at the grassroots level. They are engaging with communities to spread awareness and ensure that every eligible child is enrolled in school.
The campaign is being closely monitored, and officials are hopeful that with active public participation and a coordinated approach, the goal will be successfully achieved.
