Digvesh Rathi Faces Ban Risk With New 'Notebook' Celebration After Dismissing Sunil Narine; Video

In IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rahi new style of Notebook celebration has raised eyebrows. Despite previous fines and sanctions, Rathi continues to celebrate his dismissals in a manner that could lead to serious consequences. This time, after dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star Sunil Narine during match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Rathi performed a new version of his controversial "notebook" by touching ground, risking a potential ban.

Rathi made an immediate impact, dismissing Narine with just his second delivery. He bowled a well-timed googly, enticing Narine to reach for the ball, resulting in a simple catch to long-off. As Narine made his way back to the dugout, Rathi could be seen signing his name on the ground, a trademark celebration that has previously earned him reprimands from the board. This time, though, the gesture was even more pointed, with Rathi not engaging with the batter or saying anything but conspicuously performing the act.

Rathi’s celebratory antics are not only under scrutiny due to their nature but also because he is now just one demerit point away from facing a suspension, following repeated warnings.

KKR lose to LSG despite Rinku's fireworks

In a thrilling match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 8, the Lucknow Super Giants outshone the Kolkata Knight Riders, securing a 4 run victory. The Giants' impressive performance was fueled by exceptional batting from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran.

Marsh and Pooran's partnership proved pivotal, with Marsh scoring 81 runs off 48 balls and Pooran notching an unbeaten 87. Their aggressive batting style put immense pressure on the KKR bowlers, ultimately contributing to the team's total of 238/3 in 20 overs. Harshit Rana was the most effective KKR bowler, taking 2 wickets for 51 runs.

In response, KKR's batting lineup faltered, managing only 234/7 in 20 overs. Despite a strong start from Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine, the team couldn't maintain the required run rate. Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana needed 24 runs for a victory. However, the duo were only able to get 19, which resulted in a loss of four runs. Rinku remained unbeaten on 38 runs of 15 balls
