Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav is set to make a major career shift, leaving the cricket field behind and stepping into the political arena. The 39-year-old officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, marking the beginning of his political journey. His induction into the party was welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who were present for the occasion.
Speaking about joining BJP and being inspired by party stalwarts, Jadhav said, "Since 2014, when the BJP government came to power at the centre, the kind of love and support they have received and the kind of achievements PM Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis have done, I think this is very inspirational and my aim is to follow their footsteps and make whatever small contribution I can for BJP. Whatever responsibility I get, I am fully confident that I will try to do it with full honesty..."
