Gaurav Khanna REACTS After Vikas Khanna Defends Him Amid Allegations Of COPYING Swiss Chef's Dish On Celebrity MasterChef

Anupamaa fame Gaurav Khanna was recently accused of copying a dessert originally created by Switzerland-based chef Dives Josh on Celebrity MasterChef India. Social media users were quick to point out that the actor's honey-dripping dessert looked strikingly similar to one previously shared by Josh on his Instagram feed. Earlier today, Chef Vikas Khanna defended Gaurav amid the allegations.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Vikas wrote, "For all those commenting on Gaurav’s dish — please tell me which chef created it first in the world. Meringue dripping cones have been done for decades. What amazed us was the overall flavor and presentation that shook us." In response, Gaurav re-shared Vikas’ Instagram story and added peace emojis to it.

Rajiv Adatia also backed Khanna, stating that it’s "not copying, but called taking inspiration."

Speaking to TellyChakkar, Rajiv said that while people are accusing Gaurav of copying, the original chef who created the dish might have also taken inspiration from someone else.

"The chef who is claiming that Gaurav has copied but have also taken inspiration from another chef. Chalo aap logo ko lagta hai that he has copied but he has done his one thing in the dish. The ingredients are also different. It’s about taking inspiration and having your own take on it. It’s not copied, it’s called taking an inspiration," added Adatia.

He further said, "May it be Tejasswi (Prakash), who has made some if the most outstanding dishes or Faisu (Faisal Shaikh) or even myself, who couldn’t even prepare the food, have done so much on the show. Even Nikki (Tamboli), Abhijeet (Sawant) or Archana (Gautam), they have made some if the most amazing dishes. We all have worker very hard please respect our efforts."

Social media users were quick to point out that the dessert closely resembles a creation by Swiss chef Dives Josh, which he had previously posted on his Instagram.

The chef himself seemed to subtly call out the show and Gaurav for the apparent duplication. Sharing the promo clip on his Instagram story, he wrote, "Well done, so creative…" with a teasing emoji, and in another story, he labelled his own version as "the original."
