The actor in focus made his film debut with ‘Dastak’ along side Sushmita Sen. However, his screen debut was with ‘Mera Pyara Bharat’ in 1994. The name of the actor is Sharad Kapoor.

This 2000 release was a Hindi drama where he played the negative character of Prakash Sharma. His other notable work are Kyo Kii…Mai Jhuth Nahi Bolta, Hadh, Hathyar, Jaani Dushman, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein, LOC Kargil, Lakshya, Jai Ho among others. He has also worked in Bengali cinema.

In 2008, he got married to the love of his life Koyal Basu. Koyal Basu is the grand daughter of former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu. In 2024, a case has been registered against Bollywood actor Sharad Kapoor for allegedly misbehaving with a woman and touching her inappropriately at his house in the western suburbs.

The 32-year-old woman, in her complaint, has alleged that Sharad Kapoor invited her to his house on the pretext of discussing a film shoot. He called her into his bedroom, behaved inappropriately and forcibly touched her, the official said as per PTI report. However, Kapoor had denied all allegations.
