Maruti has just launched an updated Grand Vitara and in hybrid form it is more affordable while getting more features. So, how does it compare to the Creta electric from Hyundai? While not a direct comparison being an EV or a hybrid, here is a quick look.
The Grand Vitara in its updated form now has 6 airbags as standard while gaining features like 8-way Driver Powered Seat, Electronic Parking Brake, Auto Purify with PM 2.5 Display, LED Cabin Lamps, Rear Door Sunshades along with a 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof and connected car tech.
In terms of features, the Creta electric also gets a powered handbrake, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, connected car tech, air purifier but adds in dual powered seats, an electric front passenger adjust option from the rear, sunshade with trays at the back and ADAS level 2 as well.

How Do The Cars Compare In Terms Of Power And Price?
Let us look at power and here the Grand Vitara has a hybrid powertrain with 116bhp with a 1.5l naturally aspirated engine while the fuel efficiency is 27.9 kmpl. The Creta electric meanwhile has a single motor with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a 51.4kWh Long Range one. The power on offer is 171 hp and 255 Nm for the LR variant. Range for the long range is 473km.

The hybrid Grand Vitara is now more affordable being priced from Rs 16.9 lakh to Rs 20.7 lakh. The Creta electric meanwhile is priced from Rs 17.9 lakh to Rs 23.5 lakh. The Creta would be cheaper to run being an EV with less running cost and more features while the Grand Vitara Hybrid has more range in terms of how far you can drive in a hybrid. Both are competent cars and if your running is mostly within the city, the Creta electric works fine while the Grand Vitara is more for when you drive farther along with greater highway use.
