Video: Distrungtled Elderly Man Again Climbs Mobile Tower, This Time Over Temple Land Dispute In Aligarh

Aligarh: A bizarre incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh where an old man climbed a mobile tower over a temple land dispute on Tuesday.

A massive crowd gathered and persuded the elderly man to come down, assuring him of finding solution to his grievance. A police team also reached the spot after receiving information of his foolhardy behaviour.

He was seen in the visuals sitting and holding a bottle of yellow liquid (petrol or diesel).

However, this is not the first instance when the old man has put his life at risk by climbing the tower. The man, a repeat offender, a year ago too, did a similar stunt and went atop a cell tower.

Local media reports haven't divulged much about the dispute regarding the Hanuman Garhi temple land of Atrauli.

Reportedly, the man performed this dangerous stunt to draw attention of the police towards the issue.

Police Reaction

It wasn't immediately known for how long the man was stationed at the top and by when was he counselled and brought down.

The Aligarh police, reacting to the viral video said, "The case is related to land in which talks are being held with the victim, the Revenue Department and local police force are present at the spot".
